Web Exclusive: Darjeeling election security

West Bengal along with 11 other states went to the polls as India continued its nine-phase parliamentary elections amid tight security.

Extra forces have been put in place in Darjeeling town, famous for its tea garden, where ethnic Gorkha people have been calling for a separate state.

Puneet Yadav, District Magistrate, announced that more than 100 polling stations have been manned with armed security as the town, perched in the Himalayan foothills, went to polls.
