Algeria protests: Army chief backs call for president’s exit

Algeria’s army chief has repeated his call to apply article 102 of the constitution to remove President Bouteflika from office.

Algeria‘s army chief Ahmed Gaid Salah has renewed his call for the constitution to be used to remove President Abdelaziz Bouteflika from power.

Millions of Algerians have been taking part in nationwide anti-government protests demanding the change.
