Russia-Georgia war: 10 years since conflict

The five-day conflict in 2008 centred on South Ossetia and Abkhazia, two breakaway provinces in Georgia.

The fighting in 2008 ended in triumph for Russia and humiliation for Georgia.

Several hundred people were killed in the conflict and thousands of ethnic Georgians displaced.
