Snow worsens conditions for Syrian refugees in Lebanon

There is rising hostility towards refugees, who are often blamed for making Lebanon’s economic crisis worse.

Snow has arrived in Lebanon’s mountains, making life harder for the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees living in the Bekaa Valley.

Just under half of the refugees rely on cash assistance from aid agencies, but Lebanon’s economic crisis has made it difficult for them to access those funds.

And some local people are blaming the refugees for making the crisis worse.
