Europe: Several nations tighten measures as COVID-19 cases rise

Recent surges in new infections across several European countries have pushed governments to tighten restrictions again.

Several European countries are introducing tougher measures to control the spread of the coronavirus.

France reported more than 6,000 new cases on Thursday – its second-highest daily caseload since the outbreak began.

Infections are also rising in the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain.
