That’s your lot
We’re finishing up coverage of this game – read the match report here.
But the football is not over for the night. Our build-up to Poland v Argentina and Saudi Arabia v Mexico has already begun, with kickoff less than two hours away.
Until then.
Who will Australia meet in the round of 16?
The Socceroos will meet the winners of Group C in the round of 16, and that could be Poland, Argentina or Saudi Arabia.
The Australians will know their exact opponent by the end of the day after Poland and Argentina face off, and Saudi Arabia take on Mexico.

Aussies win without ball
Graham Arnold’s team only had just more than 30 percent possession in that game, but they had four shots on target to Denmark’s three. The Danes’ possession was largely sterile, and they missed an obvious goal threat.
The biggest shocks ever witnessed at the World Cup
Group D delivered two shocking results on its third match day: Australia beat Denmark, and Tunisia bested France.
Last month, we revisited some of the biggest upsets in previous tournaments.
Graham Arnold on a historic victory
The manager said, “So proud of the effort by the boys, it was a short turnaround but their effort was incredible.”
On installing confidence, “We’ve been working on this for about four and a half years. The belief, the energy, the focus. I could see it in their eyes tonight.”
Bittersweet victory for Tunisia
The other Group D game is over. Tunisia have beaten the reigning champions, France, 1-0. But the shock victory is not enough to get the North Africans out of the group.
With Australia’s own upset victory against Denmark, the Socceroos finish second in Group D, and Tunisia settle for third.
Mathew Leckie on going through
The 31-year-old said, “I’m proud, exhausted – everything. It’s hard to describe the emotions right now. We believed we could do it as a group.”
On holding on, “That last 15, 20 minutes we battled until the end. We’ll make the most of it tonight but it’s all about recovery.”
Australia march on to the knockout stages

Full-time
What a result for Australia! They fully deserved this result and were the side with more energy and penetration throughout that game. The Danes will be disappointed but they can’t argue with that loss, and lacked a goal threat up front.
Australia 1-0 Denmark
Schmeichel up again
Eriksen’s corner goes towards Cornelius, but he heads over.
90+6 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
Danish corner
Kasper Schmeichel comes up for it, but Eriksen’s delivery goes way over his head and into Ryan’s arms.
90+5 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
Robert Skov puts dangerous ball in
It takes a deflection, but bounces away from the Aussie goal. He’s looked promising since coming on.
90+3 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
A Denmark goal would help Tunisia
With minutes left on the clock, it may be a tall order for Denmark to score the two goals they need to beat Australia and qualify. But a Danish goal in the dying moments of the game would be a massive favour for Tunisia.
A Denmark-Australia draw would send the North Africans through to the knockout stages if they hold on to their lead against France.
Six minutes added
Enough time for the Danes to score but they don’t look like doing so.
90+1 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
Souttar putting in a shift
The centre back sticks his head on a ball into the box to clear for Australia and then gestures for his team to get up the pitch. Minutes later, he throws himself into a challenge as Dolberg was threatening.
90 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
Leckie goes off
Ajdin Hrustic is brought on to replace him.
89 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
Baccus has shot blocked
The Australian holding midfielder gets himself in a decent position on the right but his shot from distance is blocked by Christensen.
86 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
Australia look to make history
A first progression outside of the group stages of the World Cup in 16 years awaits. Could they go one better and make it to the quarter-finals?
84 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
Socceroos make a change
Jamie Maclaren comes on for Australia, with Mitchell Duke the one to be replaced. He has put in a shift for his team, the centre forward.
82 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
Another upset in the making
It may not be abundantly apparent on the field, but an Australian victory over Denmark would be another major World Cup upset in Qatar.
Denmark – Euro semi-finalists last year – are 10th in the FIFA rankings; Australia are 38th.
Denmark need two goals
It looks like an uphill task for the Danish Dynamite in this World Cup now, and there doesn’t seem to be much energy in their ranks.
79 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
Booking for Robert Skov
The player is not long on the pitch but gets a caution for a cynical foul just inside his own half. Australia can’t do much with their long delivery into the box.
77 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
Aussies make a change
Bailey Wright is on for McGree as the Socceroos attempt to shore this one up.
75 mins: Australia 1-0 Denmark
‘Wild’
“Wild.”
That’s how Australia’s football team on Twitter described Mathew Leckie’s goal and the subsequent celebration.
