Korean fans ‘very sad’ after close game
Joon Hee, 25, from the western city of Goyang, South Korea, calls the loss of his national team “heartbreaking”.
“We are very sad, … but all we can do is hope for a win in the next game. … I think it will be hard against Portugal, … but you know, last time in 2018, we defeated Germany, so anything can happen.”
‘Nerve-wracking’
“That was the most nerve-wracking game of my life, … absolutely nerve-wracking,” says Ghanaian fan Akwasi Baah-Frimpong, 20, who lives in Canada.
He pointed to the level of energy in the stadium in Doha, which he thinks was better than Ghana’s match against Portugal and led to heightening tensions.
“It was a close game. I’m just relieved we won. … In the last 10 minutes, I thought I was going to have a heart attack.”
We turn our attention to Brazil-Switzerland
Two more games to go on Monday.

That’s all from us for this game. My keyboard has taken an absolute battering in that second half, and I need to lie down.
‘Splendid’ game of football
Fadir, 32, says he is “over the moon” after Ghana’s win, adding that he had stood throughout the match.
“It was a splendid game,” the resident of Doha said. “… It had everything from goals to an amazing atmosphere. I feel bad for the opposing team, … but that’s football. The team has performed brilliantly in the two games.”
“In the revenge game against Uruguay, … I am certain of a clean sheet,” he said of Friday’s game. “… It will be a straight win.”
Kudus is the man of the moment
“We wanted the three points, and we got it,” Kudus says in his post-game interview.
“It was a collective game, and they all played a part in my performance,” he adds about his Man of the Match showing.
African teams thriving
Morocco on Sunday, Cameroon earlier on Monday and Ghana now. As Shakira once said, “It’s time for Africa!”
Entertainers
3-2 – Ghana are the first team to record consecutive 3-2 results at the World Cup (for or against) since Uruguay in 2010 and the fourth side overall to do so (also Germany in 1994 and Switzerland in 1934). Entertainers. pic.twitter.com/dSTlioflVx

South Korea deserve credit
They lost and all that but, tell you what, I thought Korea were great.

… and breathe
That was the game of the tournament for me. It had everything.
Ghana hang on for a remarkable 3-2 win and boost their chances of qualification.
Red card for Bento
South Korea coach Paulo Bento receives a red card. He’s livid with the referee for blowing the whistle before South Korea have the chance to take the corner they’d won.

South Korea suffocating Ghana
… but they haven’t found their equaliser. Ghana are hanging on.

Lee is everywhere
The substitute is driving South Korea forward. Can he bring the Asian side back on level terms again? Ghana’s players look spent.

South Korea going direct
The wing-backs have been pinging balls into the box.
A loss here leaves South Korea perilously close to elimination. We’re in for a grand finish.

Breaking records …
… and South Korea’s World Cup dreams.
Kudus has been unstoppable today.
2 – At 22 years and 118 days old, Mohammed Kudus is the second youngest African player to score two goals in a World Cup match, after Ahmed Musa (21y 254d) for Nigeria against Argentina in 2014. Kudos. pic.twitter.com/4xkKDkJQLH

South Korea are threatening
Jinsu Kim fires over for South Korea. Son misses the ball played in from the right and the ball falls to Kim but his shot was always rising.

Ghana supporters are re-energised
That Kudus goal has re-energised the Ghana supporters, who are now back to cheering their team as they had done in the first half.
The South Koreans, however, are not letting up, even though some of their fans look like they can’t bear to watch the game anymore, holding on to their friends and family in a sign of nervousness.
Changes for both sides
Tariq Lamptey and the Ayew brothers are off for Ghana. Denis Odoi, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Daniel Kofi Kyereh come on in their place.
Wooyoung Jung is replaced by Uijo Hwang for South Korea.
79 mins: South Korea 2-3 Ghana
South Korea are going for a third!
They are trying everything now, including a creative free-kick where two of their players knelt in front of the opposition wall.
And they look like they may be able to get a third, as they have the ball cleared off the line.
Could they make it another 3-3 today?
It’s all happening here
Lee is creating havoc.
In the past couple of minutes, he’s seen a free kick parried for a corner and then created a chance for Cho Guesung that was hooked off the line.

Ghana are arguably the most fun team in the World Cup
The Black Stars lost 3-2 in their first game and now they’re up 3-2. They’re pure box office.
It’s the first time they’ve scored three goals in a World Cup.

It’s that man again
A superstar in the making! It was in 2014 that Colombia’s James Rodríguez announced himself on the international stage. France’s Kylian Mbappe did so in 2018. Is it Mohammed Kudus’s turn?
KUDUS AGAINNN!!

GOAL
Kudus scores again.
Mensah makes an overlapping run down the left, and his low cross is missed by Williams, but Kudus is on hand to stroke home.
