Nerveless Chloe Kelly
“We dig deep as a group and believe in our ability and believe in what we are told to do,” Chloe Kelly says in her post-match interview.
She was fearless in the shoot-out, absolutely smashing home the decisive one. Nerves of steel from the player who also scored England’s winner in the Euros final last year.
England sneak through to the quarters
England hang in there and eventually get away with it. Got to feel Nigeria, on another day, they would've won before the penalties, possibly even in normal time.

Nigerian players are in tears
Nnadozie went down at the goal line, hands covering her face. She looked broken and had to be helped to her feet by some of the England players.
You’ve got to feel for the Super Falcons – they dominated the game, hit the bar three times and had England on the back foot all through the game.
Once the pain settles, they can take great encouragement from their showing in this tournament.

Nigeria’s game for the taking
Nigeria the better side here and have a huge opportunity to win it. But we haven't yet seen them dominate and score in the tournament – have only really thrived when largely playing on the break v Australia.
