- Substitute Scott McTominay scored a late header to give Manchester United a 2-1 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park in Birmingham in the UK.
- Rasmus Hojlund gave United a first-half lead against the run of play. Douglas Luiz equalised in the second half, but Villa failed to make the most of numerous chances and McTominay sealed the win for the visitors with a powerful header from a Diogo Dalot cross.
- Villa remain fifth in the league with 46 points, while United are sixth with 41.
- Aston Villa have now won only once in their last six games across all competitions, while United are unbeaten in six games.
