City impress a former United defender
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand expressed his admiration for that City performance when speaking to TNT Sports after the game.
“Complete control [from City], these games can be banana skins especially with these home fans,” he said.
“You have to be organised and professional and that was a complete performance.”
City cruised in Copenhagen
Were it not for a lapse at the back, City may well have stormed that by far more.
Ederson’s error handed Copenhagen the chance to level after de Bruyne’s opener. The midfielder finished it with aplomb.
It gave the home side a lift as well as an equaliser. They even defended better after their goal.
City’s class shone through in the end with Silva and Foden sealing it.
It should be job done for Guardiola’s gang but they could have been even further out of sight if they took their chances.
City seal it
Seconds early, the keeper and the defence were flinging themselves in front of a double City chance, then de Bruyne puts it on a plate immediately after for Foden to slot home.

Just too high for Haaland
The balls is hung up to the back post for Haaland but its too high even for the towering striker.
The chance won’t fall for City.

The goalscorer Mattsson is replaced by Larsson, son of Celtic and Sweden legend Henrik. Sorensen also comes on for Achouri.

The ball deflects from the corner to Foden on the edge of the box but he can’t keep his shot down.
Silva is replaced by Nunes for City.
79 minutes: Copenhagen 1-2 Manchester City
Haaland misses out
The cross is hung to the back post and Haaland rises to meet it but either he headed onto the defender’s head and it went out for a corner or it was headed straight out. Hard to tell on first look.
77 minutes: Copenhagen 1-2 Manchester City
Wasted free kick
The ball lands on the roof of the net as de Bruyne sends his cross from the free kick straight out of play.
A TV close-up shows Silva’s sock was ripped at the front of the ankle by the tackle from Diks.
75 minutes: Copenhagen 1-2 Manchester City
The tackles fly in
A challenge in the centre of the park is hotly disputed by both teams, then Silva is felled on the left as Diks comes in late and is booked.
Some questions, with studs showing, if that should have been a red.
73 minutes: Copenhagen 1-2 Manchester City
Doku draws the save
The winger cuts in from the left and lets fly from the edge of the box but the keeper flings himself to the far post and throws up a hand to stop the ball soaring into the top corner.
68 minutes: Copenhagen 1-2 Manchester City
City can’t find the killer ball
Another de Bruyne comes to nothing and, with all their possession and territorial advantage, City would dearly have liked to have given themselves more of a cushion by now.
65 minutes: Copenhagen 1-2 Manchester City
Another City corner
Foden wins the kick on the right side but de Bruyne swings it far too deep at an angle and it sails out of the box.

Claesson comes off for Cornelius before the corner is taken.
It’s swung away from goal by de Bruyne and cleared.
