More World Cup qualifiers on the way
There’s more coverage of Asia World Cup qualifying on the way, with Malaysia about to kick off against Oman in Kuala Lumpur.
That’s a Group D clash and it’s incredibly tight with three teams all level on six points.

Australia breeze past Lebanon
The other game in Group I today saw Australia secure their spot in the next round after swatting aside Lebanon in Canberra.
Two goals from Craig Goodwin helped the Socceroos to move to four wins from four in the group.

Palestine take a big step towards the next round
That victory keeps Palestine in second place in Group I of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Lions of Canaan are now on seven points, five ahead of third-placed Lebanon with just two games left in the group for each team.
Remember, the top two will move on to the next stage of World Cup qualification and secure automatic qualification for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.

Palestine win it in injury time
That was a dramatic end to an absorbing World Cup qualifier in Dhaka.
Palestine would likely have taken a point when they went down to 10 men with just minutes remaining, but Michel Termanini had other ideas and showed excellent composure to find the back of the net.
Bangladesh were left completely shellshocked with how that game ended.

Full-time
Bangladesh win a late corner, which Sazzad Hossain takes from the right. It’s an out swinging effort which doesn’t find the head of a green shirt.
And that’s it! Palestine have nicked it at the end!
Full-time: Bangladesh 0-1 Palestine
Palestine stun the Dhaka fans
Bangladesh look stunned, and who can blame them?
They were looking the more likely side to make the breakthrough, but the 10 men of Palestine have potentially pulled off a late away win.
Bangladesh have a matter of minutes to find a leveller.
90+7 mins: Bangladesh 0-1 Palestine
GOAL! Palestine score late on!
Straight after going down to 10 men, Palestine make the breakthrough!
Al-Batat digs out a cross from deep on the right touchline. He finds the head of Batran, who flicks the ball on to Termanini, who makes a run into the box.
The defender shows great composure to slot home from the left-hand side of the box. What a moment!
90+4 mins: Bangladesh 0-1 Palestine
Mahajneh is sent off!
There will be eight more minutes in this World Cup qualifier in Dhaka.
And Palestine will have to play it with 10 men. Mahajneh has picked up a second yellow after dragging a Bangladesh player off the pitch after he went down with a cramp.
What a bizarre sending-off!
90+3 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Another change for Bangladesh
Mojibur Rahman Jony makes way for Isa Faysal.
89 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Ghosh launches a long throw
I’d expect a large amount of injury time to be added on following that stoppage.
As play resumes, Ghosh fires a long throw into the area. Barman gets his head to it at the byline but can’t flick the ball across goal to set up an opportunity.
87 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Marma taken to an ambulance
Mahmoud Eid is on and the game continues.
It will be a challenging few minutes for the substitute goalkeeper following that brilliant display from Marma.
We have just seen a shot of Marma being carried into the back of an ambulance. Let’s hope for good news.
85 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Marma down in some distress
There is a concerning incident on the pitch, with the Bangladesh keeper Marma down despite no players being around him. He appears to be clutching his chest, much to the alarm of some of his teammates.
Thankfully he is now sitting up, but it looks like he will be going off shortly. The goalkeeper is clearly distressed and will be carried off on a stretcher. Mahmoud Eid will replace him.
83 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Home fans fired up
Hossain is firing up the home fans ahead of a long throw being lobbed into the Palestine box. He senses that the Bengal Tigers might have a chance of nicking a vital win here.
The long throw falls to Sazzad Hossain who hits a shot from outside the area which is deflected behind for a corner.
The set piece fails to trouble Hamadeh, with the Palestine keeper comfortably catching a looping header effort.
80 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Palestine make another change
Mohammed Rashid departs for Islam Batran.
Just over 10 minutes to go in this tense affair in Dhaka.
77 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Marma makes another good save
A lovely passing move from Bangladesh ends with Hossain lying on the floor after being fouled.
The resulting free kick on the left comes to little, with a Palestine defender fouled in his own box.
The ball goes straight up the other end and there’s a big chance for Palestine. Al-Batat whips a low cross across the face of goal from the right, but a Bangladesh defender does very well to deflect the ball behind for a corner.
From that set piece, the ball fouls to Kharoub who strikes a volley from inside the “D”. He catches the effort very well, but Marma makes a diving save down to his right to maintain his clean sheet.
75 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Two changes for Bangladesh
The first substitutions for Bangladesh, with their captain Bhuyan leaving the field:
Off: Foysal Fahim, Jamal Bhuyan
On: Mohamed Sohel Rana, Rafiqul Islam
70 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Ghosh down hurt
Warda fires a powerful corner into the box from the right, but it poses little danger to the Bangladesh defence.
Play continues and Ghosh goes down injured rolling around on the turf. He appeared to be caught on the shin. The Bashundhara Kings player is soon back to his feet and play resumes.
67 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Palestine make another change
Zaid Qunbar, who had a very good first half, is off for Palestine. He’s replaced by Alaa Aldeen.
61 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Marma makes an excellent save from Dabbagh
What a stop from Marma!
The Bangladesh keeper makes a fantastic one-handed save from a Dabbagh header to keep this game goalless.
The Palestine player was on the penalty spot when he headed the ball at goal, but Marma stuck out his left arm to keep his opponent out.
59 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Bangladesh looking dangerous on the break
Bangladesh are starting to sit a little deeper, with Palestine seeing more of the ball.
The Bengal Tigers are still a threat on the break, with Fahim looking particularly lively on the left. He breaks away and whips a cross into the box which is just cleared by a Palestine defender.
56 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Kharoub shoots from outside the area
The stadium is still pretty stunned by that Dabbagh miss, it really was jaw dropping.
Palestine may start to think that this isn’t their day.
Kharoub looks to make amends, firing a shot at goal from outside of the area. But Marma manages to catch the ball with relative ease.
52 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
A huge miss from Dabbagh
Two changes for Palestine at the break:
Off: Shehab Qunbar, Mohammed Khalil
On: Camilo Saldana, Mahmoud Eid
On the pitch Dabbagh has just missed an open goal for Palestine! He did all of the hard work, rounding the keeper and a defender, but then inexplicably fired the ball wide of an empty net. He cannot believe it.
49 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
Second half under way
We are back under way for this second half in Dhaka. Can Palestine break Bangladesh down? Or will the home side shock their opponents?
46 mins: Bangladesh 0-0 Palestine
