Mikel Arteta says Arsenal were the ‘better side’ against Bayern Munich
“It has to be a magic moment or a mistake to unlock them,” the Arsenal manager told TNT Sports.
“We were the better side.
“The club has not been playing in the Champions League for seven years, and now, in the first year back, we wanted to be in the semifinal.
“We were very close, and that is the reality.”
Not the result we wanted. Not the result your support deserved.
Thank you for joining the journey, Gooners. See you on Saturday at Wolves ❤️ pic.twitter.com/rVwPhtFpWZ

Pep Guardiola says Manchester City did everything ‘more than well’
“We did everything more than well in every department, but we could not do it [win the game] and well done to Real Madrid,” the Manchester City manager told TNT Sports.
“We created everything. As we have done over the years, we have to try to create more chances than the opponent as we did today but unfortunately, we could not do it from the penalty spot.”
Carlo Ancelotti says Real Madrid knew they were going to ‘suffer’
“I’m very happy, a very good game,” the Real Madrid manager told TNT Sports.
“We knew that we were going to suffer, and we did, but we won the game.
“They had more control and we had difficulties, but we were able to keep going and stay concentrated at the back.”
The Real Madrid stand-in denies Manchester City
Five penalties, three saved. Thirty-three shots, nine on target and eight saved. Eighteen corners and all defended. It was quite the night for Thibaut Courtois’s deputy in goal for Real Madrid, Andriy Lunin.

From five trophies in 2023 for Man City to challenging for two
The unprecedented success of winning five trophies in 2023 will not be emulated.
The double treble has gone and now City have to aim for the domestic double of the Premier League and the FA Cup.

Ruben Diaz says Manchester City have to ‘look forward’
“I don’t know what to say. It’s frustrating. We dominated the whole game,” Diaz told TNT Sports.
“In the end, you go to penalties, but we had our chances.
“You always end up, especially when you dominate a game, doing everything to avoid going to penalties because that is what [Real Madrid] wanted.
“There are many ways to look at it, but it was not our day.
“Sometimes the ball goes in, sometimes it doesn’t, and we have to look forward to what is left of the season.
“Now is a moment to be strong – especially in the head.”

Jude Bellingham says Real Madrid ‘stood up well’
“You put so much into the game, and I’ve played City before when you work hard and they snatch it away from you,” the Madrid midfielder told TNT Sports.
“The crowd get on top of you when City get going, but we stood up well.
“Just the feeling you get playing for [Real Madrid], not just the goals and the assists, but just pulling on the badge.
“You have to see it as a responsibility more than pressure if you come to a club like Madrid. If you’re here it means you can probably handle it.
“It’s incredible. Today came down to management and then if you can get to penalties and keep your cool.”
