On the early hours of August 26, an undercover unit of the Israeli border police entered the Qalandia refugee camp, near the West Bank city of Ramallah. During the clashes, three Palestinians were shot to death and 19 were injured, according to Palestinian medics.
The funerals of Unis Jahjouh, 22, Rubeen Abed Fares, 30, and Jihad Aslan, 20, took place after the noon prayers in the refugee camp. Around 3000 people came to the funeral, which started in the houses of the deceased, then continued with a march to the local mosque.
During the funeral march, 10 members of the al-Aqsa brigades arrived with uniforms and automatic weapons, shooting in the air. They marched with the funeral procession.
Members of the brigade refused to give interview to the media, but said they will take revenge against Israel.
After the funeral, around 100 youth clashed with Israeli soldiers at the Qalandia checkpoint. Israeli security forces fired tear gas and rubber coated steal bullets.
