Iraq’s poor hopeful Muqtada al-Sadr’s bloc will bring change

Much of Baghdad and Iraq are lacking basic services and facilities and the working class are looking to al-Sadr to form a coalition and bring improvements to their lives.

Iraqi politicians are trying to negotiate a coalition to form the next government.

The surprise victory for Muqtada al-Sadr‘s bloc has made him an unusual powerbroker.

His support comes from Baghdad’s working class who heeded his call for change to the political status quo.
