Palestine Journals: Life Under Occupation

Palestine has been in and out of the news for decades. Once in a while, new developments may shed renewed spotlight on the occupied territories like the now-shelved annexation plan and Arab normalisation. News media takes interest once again, and Palestine and Israel make headlines. Then the attention fades.

Producer Rania Zabaneh has seen this cycle during her 20 years as a journalist from the occupied territories. She says on the ground, “most Palestinians would tell you that annexation isn’t new. It’s been happening for years.” Rania takes us through the barriers she faces as a Palestinian journalist — both physical and unseen.

“Most people we meet would tell you that they fear they’re losing their most important asset, hope.”
