Five hundred businessmen and bankers tell Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro to take action to control the pandemic.

As the country’s death toll from the pandemic inched towards 300,000 last month, President Jair Bolsonaro told Brazilians to stop “whining” and move on.

Anger over his handling of the pandemic is growing, with Brazil recording the second-highest death toll after the United States.

But with the criticism of bankers and billionaires ringing in his ears, Bolsonaro appeared to be more conciliatory.
