What’s behind Israel’s ban on Islamic Movement?
Israeli-Palestinians call the ban persecution, an attempt to cover up Israel’s security shortcomings.
The Islamic Movement’s northern branch was outlawed by the Israeli government earlier this week.
Israel’s internal security service, the Shin Bet, advised the government that there’s no reason to outlaw the group.
But despite that, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went through with the decision, saying it is part of an effort to help the West fight what it calls the “war on terror”.
