Will Trump give up power if he loses?

Several times over the last week, US President Donald Trump has refused to commit to a peaceful transition of power if he loses on the November 3 election.

Democrats have condemned his refusal to commit to poll results while senior Republicans are distancing themselves from it.

It remains unclear how serious the situation could become: whether Trump will refuse to hand over power and whether Republicans will back him if he does.
