Could Muammar Gaddafi’s son become Libya’s president?

Saif al-Islam Gaddafi has registered as a presidential candidate for next month’s elections.

Ten years after longtime Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi was removed from power following a NATO-backed uprising, the Gaddafi name is back in the spotlight.

Muammar Gaddafi’s son, Saif al-Islam, has registered to run for president in next month’s elections. He said in July that he wanted to restore unity to Libya.

Saif is wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity.

So, what are his chances in the vote?

And will the UN-mandated election help to unite the country?
