COP26: What’s at stake?

World leaders are arriving in Glasgow for the climate summit, where they will be asked to introduce radical plans.

Current commitments to cut emissions are putting the planet on track to hit a 2.7 degrees Celsius (4.9F) temperature rise this century – wildly missing the 1.5C (2.7F) target pledged in Paris in 2015. So, as COP26 kicks off in Glasgow, environment correspondent Nick Clark looks at whether an ambitious agreement can be reached.
