Coronavirus in India: Your questions answered, live

On Monday, May 10 at 19:30 GMT:
The coronavirus continues to have a strong and painful grip on India as its record-breaking surge continues.

Official numbers put total new cases at more than 3.5 million this week and deaths are now close to a quarter of a million. And the Indian Institute of Science predicts more than 400,000 Covid-19 deaths are still to come. Right now, India is vaccinating about 2.1 million people daily, or around 0.15 percent of its population.

The healthcare system is completely overwhelmed, frontline workers are overburdened and families have been shattered. But the issue has become more political and polarising than before. Debates, whether about new variantswaning immunity or lax behaviour, continue as case numbers skyrocket.

In this episode of The Stream, we put your questions live to a panel of Indian experts – tell us what you want to know.
