How are immigrants treated in the US? | We Need To Talk
“We do need to make sure that Trump is held accountable for what he’s done to the immigrant community,” says immigration rights activist Erika Andiola. More than 500 parents of the children separated at the US-Mexico border are missing, according to the latest reports. However, Obama’s treatment of immigrants should not be forgotten either, according to Andiola who calls herself “undocumented and unafraid.”
“[Obama] was one of the presidents, actually the first president in history who had deported that many people,” Andiola said in the interview with We Need To Talk hosted by Malika Bilal.
We Need to Talk is Al Jazeera Digital’s flagship interview show that engages newsmakers, politicians, scholars and activists in conversation about issues at the core of the United States election 2020.
