UK homelessness: Thousands sleeping rough in Britain says charity

Homelessness at record levels in Britain as 600 people died on the streets in the past year.

Homelessness in the United Kingdom has reached a record high, with about 170,000 families and individuals affected.

The homeless charity Crisis says the number of rough sleepers in the UK has doubled in five years.

British government figures show nearly 600 homeless people died over the past year.
