Tunisia: equal inheritance laws for women still controversial

A parliamentary group is drafting revised rules and recommendations to change existing inheritance laws.

When Tunisia’s president proposed last year that the country’s inheritance laws should be revised, women’s rights activists applauded the move.

But the issue remains controversial for the government and public.
