Jack Johnson: Trump posthumously pardons black boxing champion

The Texan, who was an icon for racially oppressed African Americans, had been charged under the Mann Act, which was used to prosecute men for mixed race relationships.

Donald Trump has given a posthumous pardon to Jack Johnson, the world’s first black heavyweight boxing champion.

Johnson was jailed one hundred and five years ago for having a relationship with a white woman.
