Nigeria’s government under pressure to stop bandit group

An armed group around the Nigerian state of Zamfara has been attacking locals and extorting money for several years and the violence is getting worse.

Nigerian officials say the bodies of several victims recently attacked by gunmen are yet to be recovered.

So far, 40 people have been buried in the northwest of the country – following attacks on four villages.

Since 2014, bandits have been demanding money from the villagers – with the government unable to stop them.

Al Jazeera’s Ahmed Idris reports from Nigeria.
