Tunisia election: New President Saied promises to fix economy

Tunisia’s newly elected president Kais Saied, who won by a landslide, offers new hope that ailing economy will be fixed.

Tunisia’s president-elect Kais Saied won the first landslide victory since the 2011 revolution.

High unemployment and tackling economic growth are the first issues he will have to tackle, along with uniting the political parties.

But given that nine successive governments have failed since 2011, many are hoping he will bring real change.
