Myanmar’s mountain war: Prayers for peace in Kachin state

Kachin state is home to around 1.5 million people, including 100,000 living in 140 camps where the Myanmar government imposes restrictions on food, healthcare, shelter and sanitation.

Prayers for peace have been said in the mountains of Kachin state in northern Myanmar.

It has been eight years since a ceasefire between the Kachin Independence Army and Myanmar government forces collapsed.

The resumption of fighting since then has forced many from their homes.
