Iraqis protest over power cuts amid record summer temperatures

Protesters across southern Iraq are demanding stable electricity supplies.

Last week, temperatures in southern Iraq reached 54 degrees Celsius – the hottest ever recorded.

The increased demand on the grid has led to frequent power cuts.
